Progess.
This is gonna be a short blog. Just an update. We have two songs basically completed for the record. Drums are tracked for two more, bass and guitars this week and vocals next. We are taking our time and making the record that we want to make and it feels really good. I really like what we are doing with this so far and I can’t wait to see where it goes. Like David said in his last...
October
Automatically when the air thins and the nights get cooler, I get excited. Partly because it reminds me of being a kid and my mom reading me “The Pumpkin Smasher” by Anita Benarde. Partly because it reminds me of recording the Dark Regard ep with my friend Mike years back….and partly because I made it through another summer without shaving my head.
On the House of Fools...

Thunder and Lightning
“Everybody pays to play” so they say. So I say. Lately it’s work work work for me and the boys. New tunes, stories, studio, and times. I’ve been working odd jobs, and random part timers trying to keep the bills met, and somehow I’ve managed to keep my afternoon Woodlea sessions. They’re productive and enjoyable lately. Joel and I’ve recently been...

Farewell Blind Tiger. Howdy Mooseknuckle!
Just this past weekend, the city of Greensboro said its goodbyes to the 22 year old location of The Blind Tiger, a popular landmark that has served as a breeding ground for most of the musical talent coming out of the Piedmont Triad area. We had the privilege of sharing the stage with our friends in Holy Ghost Tent Revival. If you haven’t heard of these guys, check em out here.
We got...

Building a New Nest
Spring is a time of change, of rebirth and growth. For House of Fools, this spring has brought us an immense amount of work already. After a set routine of practices and regional shows for the past year, we’ve decided to start pre-production on a new record. All of this is made possible with the wonderful facilities at our new home.
Back in February, the band made a move (we all...
Spirit of the Bear
A few months ago we were invited to perform a song for our friend and videographer Harvey in his kitchen. The above video is what came of that day….
Enjoy “Spirit of the Bear!”
Right now we are hunkered down in our home studio, recording and demoing everyday. Lets hope that will suffice for news……at least for now….

A couple weeks ago we decided that we wanted to release one of our demos (this one is “Better Days”) as well as some new info regarding what we’ve been up to in the “HOF” camp, so with the help of our lovely and talented friend, Caitlin Haun, we put together this little video blog for your viewing and listening pleasure. Its the first in a series of blogs that...

Leon Russell
This upcoming Saturday we are going to be sharing the stage with a true music Legend; Leon Russell. He has inspired so many artists (including House of Fools) and has worked with almost every artist under the sun. We are incredibly grateful for this opportunity and we hope you will all come and share this special night with us. Tickets are available at www.yesweekly.com, and we are...
An update of sorts....
Life.
Its a really interesting thing. I would think that for most of my peers it involves a full time job that yields a regular income, stability, for some a family and for most some sort of social life thrown in the mix somewhere. That sound about right?
Well for me it doesn’t. Not for House of Fools…not a one of us. What then, you may ask, is the life of a fool? Well, we...

"Can't Buy a Thrill"
The past week/weekend has been tiresome, trying, and productive. This week is looking even better/worse. I can’t distinguish the 2 anymore. Our shows were fantastic. Even Greenville. Anyone who knows me knows that’s tough for me to say. I still consider that place the asshole of North Carolina. We of course encountered a brain-dead crack head trying to play us a song on a...

House of FOOTBALL!!!
So I think its safe to say that the majority of we fools’ are pretty diehard fans of various college and professional football teams. Josh is the biggest ‘Bama fan I have ever met, Joel Josh and David can’t go a week without watching the Panthers game and I do the “Hokie Pokie” every Saturday in the fall. For those of you who could careless about football...

The Rise and Fall of Mooseknuckle
Hey everyone! This is the first post I’ve done since I’ve been in the band and hopefully I will be doing more in the near future. Quite honestly, I don’t have a whole lot to say, but I will reflect on the past couple weeks for you guys as things have been going down in the group.
The last couple of shows we’ve played have been extremely successful considering the fact...

Mohicans
We hit the road for Boone, NC on Thursday. Our long time friend John Paul Pardy opened up a board shop called RECESS up in Boone town so we went up to hang out and play his grand opening. By the way, It’s awesome, check it out. It was at the Dragonfly theater which was pretty sweet. I had noticed a mexican restaurant across the street earlier. I’m a big fan of walkable mexican...
Last week as it was...
Last week was a rollercoaster of emotions not only for me, but also for my hometown. On Halloween night, Marion, VA lost one of its finest sons; Eric Albano. Eric was a light to everyone he met….he was the life of the party and I had recently gotten to know him really well through our mutual love of music. Eric was one of the first people to really show support for me when i started...
Roadsick by David
Well, I just wrote a novel description of my Custom Shop Gibson guitar I’m putting up on Ebay tonight. Pretty depressing. It’s economically the best decision for me right now though. We’re all trying to put some money back. It’s that time of the year. I can’t believe the holiday’s are coming up. Even more so, I can’t belive how NOT ready I am for...

Where to begin??
Hello fellow bloggers, blogees, blogistas and so on….. Jordan here. I am one of the new guys in House of Fools. I play bass. Jack is the other new guy. He plays drums. Abnormally short sentences aside, I would like to take a second to catch you all up on the happenings of House of Fools over the past several months. Like I said before, Jack and I are the new guys. Jack joined the...
