Life.
Its a really interesting thing. I would think that for most of my peers it involves a full time job that yields a regular income, stability, for some a family and for most some sort of social life thrown in the mix somewhere. That sound about right?
Well for me it doesn’t. Not for House of Fools…not a one of us. What then, you may ask, is the life of a fool? Well, we certainly have a full time job. This band consumes the majority of our time, energy and resources. Not only do we practice and play shows as often as we can, but there are countless hours of behind the scenes involvement that are equally if not more demanding.
This full time job however does not yield a regular income (at least not yet). On top of the full time nature of House of Fools, there is a necessity for all of us to pay our bills as well, so for the majority of us, extra work must be done to cover our life expenses. Stability isn’t a word that any of us really know the true meaning of. Sure, we are all blessed with wonderful, supportive families and friends who have supported us for years and provided a stable backbone for us to be able to pursue our dreams. However, this industry is volatile and ever changing and we are constantly adapting ourselves, our goals and our plans to accomodate its very unstable landscape.
We do know how to socialize though! If being in a full time band is one thing, it most certainly is fun. I wouldn’t be able to keep track of all of the amazing friends I’ve made in my years of doing this. We’ve rocked out and partied in almost every state in the US on more than one occassion. And guess what? We have every intention of doing it again and again and again! “When?!?!?!,” you may ask? That I can’t tell you exactly, but it will be soon. We started this blog several months ago to let you all know that House of Fools is still very much alive. Since then we haven’t had alot of “news” that we could throw your way and sadly I can’t give you any today either. But I can tell you this. Good things are coming our way and as soon as we have the go ahead to tell you about them we will! Progress is happening in the House of Fools camp. Much needed and long awaited progress. Keep your eyes and ears open friends!
Life is an interesting thing. Mine has never involved much money or much stability aside from my wonderful family and friends, but damn if it hasn’t been alot of fun. I, well I should say WE, intend to keep it that way!
